James Bancroft started teaching English in 2009 in a school in Mexico. There he taught General English and some Business English. Since then he has continued teaching in these areas, as well as various exam courses to various ability levels. He is now teaching online courses including IELTS, Business English and General English. He is now very accomplished with online teaching- using programmes such as Zoom and Skype.

Now, in the era of remote learning, James is offering online courses. He is enjoying the challenge of teaching in this new way, developing new teaching and learning strategies and maintaining the reputation for excellence he has with his students.

I offer courses at all levels of English from A1 to Specialist tailored courses and C2. My courses are designed to focus on your progression in order for you to achieve your goals.

General English

I have gained 12 years experience of dramatically improving my students’ English levels. This has included learners of all ages and ability levels. I can provide a personalised course of lessons for your individual needs.

Business English

My working method includes using real life examples and a range of Business English books and materials. This way we can really focus on improving your knowledge of Business English Vocabulary and Business concepts. Broad experience includes working in business environments such as food companies, insurance, pipelines, energy and infrastructure projects.

IELTS, B2 First & C1 Advanced Exams

Extensive experience of teaching these 3 exams. I am flexible with teaching all the component parts of these tests and providing key knowledge and exam tips. Throughout my years teaching I have had remarkable success in getting my students to pass their exams and open more life opportunities to them as a result.

Interview English

A very tailored approach to the interview you are doing. Bearing in mind your goals we’ll focus on the required approach and content. Furthermore, I will help with any necessary language areas that could be strengthened to sharpen your interview performance and success.

Grammar Focus

A very extensive range of assistance regarding tenses and various elements of sentence construction and grammar forms. I like to prioritise and focus on the most needed grammar for your English level and language needs.

Fluency and Accent Help

Strong ability to help with features such as connected speech and to help remove any obstructive sounds. Students will be guided to acquire a perfectly comprehensible accent, speak with some native features and gain an improved speaking confidence.

Proofreading

I am proficient in improving a wide range of documents such as letters, emails, CVs and various academic writing forms. Help can also be given with error correction, improving vocabulary and sentence construction. This is vitally important as a professionally written, grammatically correct document will bring you the success you are looking for.
